ACHS wrestling team competes at Amelia

The Appomattox Raiders wrestling team participated in the Raider Invitational at Amelia on Saturday. The Raiders are under the direction of first-year head coach Jason Thompson.

Ezekiel Robertson of Appomattox won his round one match over Dae`Montrae Callahan of Huguenot (Fall 5:45) and lost in round two to Keith Melton of Petersburg (Fall 0:45). Robertson went on to defeat Mikal Alvarenga of Petersburg in consolation round one (Sudden Victory 1 5-3), defeat Jonathan Perez of Crosby in the consolation quarterfinals (Decision 5-2), and lose to Akai Harris of Amelia in the consolation semifinals (Decision 1-0).
