The Appomattox County Department of Social Services (DSS) offices will be permanently relocated to the Appomattox Community Center from its past location on Court Street.
On Thursday, Jan. 2, the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 to approve renovation of the Community Center for the move. DSS has been conducting its business there since moving out of their old office space in the lower portion of the building where the Appomattox County Public Schools administrative offices are located. The move was made due to water damage at the DSS offices that necessitated renovations.
