One injured in Church Street crash in Appomattox

At approximately 4:25 today, a two-vehicle crash in Appomattox resulted in one person being injured and transported by the Appomattox County Rescue Squad.

The accident occurred at the right turn onto Church Street off of Confederate Boulevard, where a tractor trailer and small passenger car collided. Both vehicles were facing the same southbound direction, side by side, when emergency crews arrived.

Both vehicles sustained side damage, the tractor trailer on its passenger side, and the small passenger car on its driver side.

A Virginia State Police trooper is investigating the accident. More information will be provided when it is made available to the Times Virginian.

Also arriving at the scene was the Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department Engine 3 and Crash 9, and the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office.
