The Appomattox Raiders golf team split two meets last week, winning at William Campbell and falling short at Chatham for its first Dogwood District loss of the season.
The Raiders prevailed at the Sept. 10 meet at William Campbell, defeating the host Generals by 25 strokes, 161-186. Nelson County placed third with 190 team points.
Coleman Almond and Evan Carwile of Appomattox tied for a first place finish in individual scoring, ending 3-over par with scores of 39.
Appomattox County High School announced that Tuesday's home contest was canceled due to rainy weather and may be played today depending on course conditions.
