Several ACHS sporting events altered due to weather
Appomattox County High School Athletic Director Tim Peterson released the following announcement regarding athletic events affected by the weather:
"Due to the no-name storm that is moving up through the mid-Atlantic states we have been forced to make some alterations to the athletic schedules."
-- Today's home golf match has been tentatively moved to Wednesday at Falling River Country Club. The course will be checked in the morning to determine if it will be playable.
-- Wednesday's home cross country meet at the Appomattox Surrender Grounds has been canceled. No makeup date will be set.
-- Tonight's volleyball game will be played.
"Come out and support the Lady Raiders as they open their Dogwood District play against the No. 2 ranked team in Region 2C, the Gretna Hawks. It is also our "Go Gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness Night." Wear gold (or Raiders attire) and show your support for Kyrie Thomas. Kyrie will be in attendance tonight and was recently diagnosed with neurablastoma cancer. Kyrie had surgery August 29th and has started chemotherapy."
