At the July 14 town council meeting in Pamplin, the council agreed to begin the search for a new clerk.
The current clerk for Pamplin City, Libby Mitchel, is ready to pass on the position to a new face.
“Part of the reason she was selected was for her grant writing ability,” said Mayor Sarah Hamlett Blackwell.
She said the original intent was for Mitchel to get the town office in order and then move Mitchel to a grant-writing role.
