Smith graduates from UNC with highest honors

Alli Smith, daughter of Donna Abernathy and Steve Burris and granddaughter of Carole and Bobbie Abernathy, recently graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Chemistry with highest honors and an English minor.

During her senior year at UNC-Chapel Hill, Alli was coauthor to a journal article published in Analytical Chemistry, won an award for the best comparative literature essay in a comparative literature course for the 2019-2020 school year, and won an undergraduate teaching award in chemistry.

She will begin her graduate studies toward a PhD in analytical chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin this coming fall.
