From the time Lauren N. Gardner took a pre-law elective course in high school at the suggestion of her parents, she pursued a career as a prosecuting attorney.
In October of 2023, Gardner began working as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Appomattox County, where she primarily works in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court (J&D) on domestic violence cases.
Gardner, who is married, brings nearly a decade of law experience to the position, having interned and worked in the Pittsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, as a magistrate in Danville and Mecklenburg County, as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in Amherst County, and a brief stint in private practice.
Gardner graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from the Liberty University School of Law in 2014. As an undergraduate at Liberty, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Government with a minor in Business.
In childhood, Gardner moved around because her father was in the United States Air Force, but she primarily grew up in Maryland. Her parents noticed personal qualities that prompted them to guide her into a career in law.
Aside from her parents’ influence, Gardner was motivated by “wanting to help the innocent and holding criminals accountable for their actions, keeping our communities safe.”
