Appomattox County’s incumbents during the election this year were uncontested. The following are unofficial results from the Virginia Department of Elections with all but one precinct reporting.

Richard C. Conner was reelected as mayor of Appomattox with 95.57 percent of the votes with 453 votes. There were 21 write-in votes, which accounted for 4.43 percent. Three of four precincts reporting as of 8:11 p.m. Tuesday.

For mayor of Pamplin, Sarah Hamlett Blackwell was reelected with 90.24 percent of the vote with 37 votes cast for her. There were four write-in votes, which accounted for 9.76 percent. Three of four precincts reported as of 7:43 p.m. Tuesday.

There were six spots open for the Appomattox Town Council. With three of four precincts reporting as of 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, the following are the results:

• Claudia G. Puckette, 284 votes, 17.87 percent

• James J. “Jim” Boyce Sr., 255 votes, 16.05 percent

• Mary Lou Spiggle, 304 votes, 19.13 percent

• Timothy W. Garrett, 356 votes, 22.40 percent

• Nathan A. Simpson, 298 votes, 18.75 percent

• Write-in: 92 votes, 5.79 percent

There were six spots available for the Pamplin Town Council. With three of four precincts reporting as of 7:43 p.m. Tuesday, the following are the results:

• John R. Marks (new member), 31 votes, 20.81 percent

• Ronald E. Kinest, 30 votes, 20.13 percent

• Ronald Edward Franklin, 32 votes, 21.48 percent

• Patricia S. Miller (new member), 33 votes, 22.15 percent

• Write-in: 23 votes, 15.44 percent

For District 5 of the House of Representatives, Republican Robert G. “Bob” Good was re-elected. Appomattox County residents supported him with 5,201 votes, or 79.24 percent. Democrat Joshua M. Throneburg received 1,354 votes, or 20.63 percent, from county residents. There were nine write-in votes, or 0.14 percent. As of 8:11 p.m. Tuesday, 11 of 12 precincts reported.
