The Appomattox Raiders golf team won its opening Dogwood District match of the season at the Goodyear Golf Club with Dan River High School as host on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
Appomattox was tops with a total team score of 167, followed by Dan River at 188 and Nelson County at 215.
The Raiders dominated individual scoring, claiming the top four spots and tying for fifth. Coleman Almond finished first in the par 36 match, shooting 4-over-par with a score of 40.
