One person was ejected from a vehicle in a motor vehicle accident this morning involving a tractor trailer on Route 460 at Police Tower Road, according to the Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD).

AVFD and Appomattox County Rescue Squad (ACRS) responded to the two-vehicle accident just after 10 a.m. today.

AVFD stated that crews arrived to find the patient ejected from a vehicle, assisted EMS on scene, worked to control product leakage and established a landing zone for Centra One helicopter.

The condition of the patient was not disclosed.

Units operating on scene were AVFD Engine 2, Engine 3, Crash 8 and a Hazmat Response Trailer.

In addition to AVFD and ACRS, also on scene were Delta Response Team, the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office and Virginia State Police.
