An Appomattox man is facing a sentence of 20 years to life following a jury’s guilty verdicts on two felony charges stemming from a March 2022 assault that left a woman with permanent facial damage.
Thirty-three-year-old David Andrew Shelton was convicted of felony malicious wounding and felony strangulation. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of obstruction of justice by fleeing from police. One additional obstruction of justice charge was dropped. The trial took place in Appomattox County Circuit Court on Oct. 25 and 25.
