The YMCA of Central Virginia is thrilled to announce the appointment of Michael (Mike) Cassidy as the organization's new chief executive officer (CEO), effective mid-March 2024. With a wealth of experience and a proven track record of cause-driven leadership, Cassidy is committed to bringing dynamic, servant leadership to our YMCA and community.
Cassidy brings over three decades of successful YMCA experience to his new role as CEO, having most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at the East Bay YMCA in San Francisco, Cal.
During his time at the East Bay YMCA, Cassidy spearheaded a $10 million capital investment strategy to create more inclusive and sustainable spaces, serving the diverse needs of both members and the surrounding communities to foster a welcoming environment for all. Mirroring the YMCA's dedication to diversity and inclusion, he developed leadership teams that reflected their community, addressing the unique needs of volunteers, staff, and the community.
