County supervisors approve vehicle for sheriff’s office

The Appomattox County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a new vehicle for the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office at its Aug. 19 regular monthly meeting.

Sheriff Robby Richardson appeared before the board to make the request, explaining that an additional vehicle is needed due to other patrol cars currently placed under recall.

Richardson did not ask for any additional funds out of the current fiscal year budget. Rather, he requested that carryover funds be issued for the purchase.
