Foster care agency seeking homes for children in need

United Methodist Family Services (UMFS) is seeking people who want to make a difference in a child’s life by providing a stable environment of love and understanding.

Katherine Solvig, a foster parent recruiter from the UMFS Lynchburg office, is hoping to develop more foster homes for children who need placement in Appomattox County, Campbell County and the surrounding areas.

Solvig, a North Carolina native who earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and is now working toward a Masters Degree in Counseling, both through Liberty University, has worked for UMFS since January 2021. Her mission is to find people who want to become foster parents and assist them during the approval process.
