The Appomattox Town Council met Oct. 10 to discuss broadband services and the ongoing drug issues affecting local students.
Dominion Energy Virginia’s Rural Broadband Program is a system-wide initiative to equip their infrastructure with fiber optic cable that assists Internet Service Providers (ISPs) with providing broadband access to rural areas in Virginia.
Also discussed at the meeting, there have been rising cases of local students overdosing on illegal drugs. Council member Claudia G. Puckette was the first member to address her concern because of personally knowing a student that overdosed on drugs.
