Raider cheerleaders earn individual region and state honors

Five members of the 2019 Appomattox County High School Raiders competition cheerleading team have earned regional and state individual honors.

Lauren Weakley was named 1st Team All-Region 2C and 1st Team All-State.

Karisma Watson was named 1st Team All-Region 2C and 1st Team All-State.

Mikahlynn Page was named 1st Team All-Region 2C and 1st Team All-State.

Shaunquitta Wright was named 1st Team All-Region 2C and 2nd Team All-State.

April Morgan was named 1st Team All-Region 2C.

The Raiders squad won the 2019 Region 2C Championship, which qualified them for the VHLS Class 2 State Championships in Richmond. The ladies finished fourth overall in their second consecutive trip to the state finals.
