The Appomattox County School Board approved continued pay for employees and the addition of an increase in wages for certain school system employees.
“The only reason we wouldn’t pay is if we didn’t have the money,” said Dr. Annette Bennett of compensating school employees.
She said every employee group in the school system has helped and will continue to help with services to the community.
The school board also discussed increasing wages for food services. Bennett said because there is a small group of food service employees coming in every day, the possibility of paying them an additional $5 an hour was discussed.
