The International Guild of Realism (IGOR) has accepted Ed Gowen of Appomattox as one of 92 artists to participate in an international exhibit in Santa Fe, N.M. The show happens June 2-26, and the hosting gallery will be the Sugarman-Peterson Gallery in Santa Fe.

Gowen's work was scrutinized by not just one, but a two-tier jury process that resulted in one of his pieces being accepted into the show. The work selected was a 20x44 oil painting titled "Golden Blaze." The first jury was a "run-off" consisting of IGOR personnel, and the final selections were made by the staff of Sugarman-Peterson Gallery.

The show will be the 17th Annual Exhibition put on by IGOR. Artists from the USA, Canada, Germany, Norway, New Zealand, Austria, Sweden, Greece, Australia and England will be represented in this year's exhibit. There were well over 450 artworks submitted but only 95 pieces were chosen.
