Appomattox Health and Rehab still thriving amid COVID-19

Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 60-bed skilled nursing center that strives to provide excellent care for all its residents, driven by the ultimate goal of returning patients home with full recovery.

Administrator Cynthia Smith explained that patients come to the facility with various ailments including cardiovascular illness, hip or knee replacement, stroke, heart failure, pneumonia and post-surgical care.

Along with short-term rehabilitation services, Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center also focuses on long-term care for residents who need the necessary comfort and round-the-clock attention the staff provides.

The current COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has presented challenges to long-term and short-term care medical and nursing facilities, and Appomattox Health and Rehabilitation Center is no exception.
