At 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Doss Road. just east of White Oak Road.
A 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle was traveling east on Doss Road when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road again and came to rest in a ditch.
The rider, Christian N. W. Goff, 22, of Appomattox, died at the scene. He was wearing a helmet.
The crash remains under investigation.
