A Lynchburg man will serve three years and six months of incarceration for his role in a five-person operation that robbed equipment and metals valued at over $23,000 last year from a local construction business.
Thirty-four-year-old Jamie Christopher Patria pleaded guilty to one felony count of entering a structure to commit larceny and one felony count of conspiracy to aid or abet larceny over $1,000.
The incidents occurred Oct. 16, 2023 at D.S. Nash Construction Company, located on Clover Lane in Appomattox.
According to evidence summarized Thursday in Appomattox County Circuit Court by the prosecution, Patria organized plans to rob the property and was assisted by four individuals.
Patria received one-and-a-half years on each felony conviction, plus an additional six months for violating terms of probation. He also received 11 years of suspended time with conditions of 14 years of good behavior and four years of supervised probation. Five years of good behavior was extended on the probation violation.
Patria’s case had been scheduled for a jury trial but he chose a plea instead. He is the first of the five co-defendants to be sentenced.
The following four co-defendants are scheduled to face trial on Oct. 31:
- Harry William Hendricks III, age 21, of Lynchburg
- Tracey Gayle Hendricks, age 54, of Lynchburg
- James Daniel Hayes, age 48, of Appomattox
- Keane David Rioseco, age 39, of Evington
