Times Virginian staff recently received a plaque for winning the Virginia Press Association (VPA) 2021 Grand Sweepstakes award for the non-daily group 1 division.

This is the highest newspaper award granted by VPA for its division.

In addition to the grand sweepstakes award, the Times Virginian newspaper had won eight first-place awards, three second-place awards and one third-place award. This is the fourth straight year that the Times Virginian has won VPA awards and the most the newspaper has ever received.

Times Virginian Reporter Charles Conrad won five first-place awards.
