For those who are still unaware, a branch of Original Italian Pizza (OIP) opened in October 2023 at the Triangle Plaza in Appomattox. The restaurant is owned by husband and wife team Antonio “Tony” and Kimberly Vitale.

Tony, a native of Sicily, Italy, has been involved in the pizza restaurant business for more than 30 years. His parents immigrated to the United States when he was seven or eight years old, and lived in Pennsylvania before relocating to Lynchburg. The family then moved to Madison Heights, where they opened their first OIP pizza shop.

Kimberly, a native of Amherst County, was raised in Nola, off of Route 130 near the Blue Ridge Parkway. She has worked in the food service industry for more than 20 years but wasn’t involved in the pizza business until her relationship with Tony began 17 years ago.
