The Appomattox Raiders boys basketball team won its third game of the 2022-23 season with a 42-35 win over Nelson County at home on Wednesday, Feb. 8, sweeping the Governors in their series. Appomattox also downed Nelson County in a 59-55 road win Feb. 3.

Appomattox’s record was 3-17 overall as of Tuesday's press time (2-9 in the Dogwood District). Gretna improved to 14-8 (10-2).

The Raiders faced William Campbell in a road game Tuesday night. Results will be published in next week's Times Virginian.

Appomattox will travel Friday in the opening round of the Region 2C tournament to Alleghany or James River for a 6 p.m tipoff time.
