ACHS indoor track & field wins 10 events in three meets

Appomattox Raiders indoor track and field athletes participated in three competitions last week, with Nadiyah Abdussalaam and Courtnee Holland winning a combined seven events.

Abdussalaam, a senior, won three events at Woodberry Forest on Wednesday, Jan. 25. She was first in the girls high jump (4-8), long jump (15-3.5) and pole vault (9-0).

Holland won four events at the Heritage Middle School & JV Invitational on Saturday. She topped the girls 55-meter dash (7.69), 300-meter dash (47.74), long jump (17-4), and triple jump (33-10).

At Heritage, the Raiders competed in a 28-team field. Other first-place winners for the team were Eryn Flamm in the girls pole vault (5-6), Jamiyah Troxler in the girls shot put (29-4) and the girls 4x400-meter relay team of Hailey Thompson, Caroline Swing, Kasen Kesler and Madison Martin (5:11.54).
