Raiders indoor track regular season concludes; regional and state finals on deck

On Saturday, the Appomattox Raiders indoor track and field team participated in both the JV Invitational (junior varsity) and Wally Gilbert Invitational (upperclassmen) at Heritage High School in Lynchburg.

Tyreese Seal was the top varsity athlete for the Raiders with a second place finish in the boys high jump.

Nadiyah Abdussalaam and Mannix Wilhoit were tops for the junior varsity Raiders. Abdussalaam was second in the girls high jump. Wilhoit was second in the boys high jump and boys triple jump.

The meet concludes the regular season for Appomattox. The VHSL regional championships take place Feb. 21 at Roanoke College. The VHSL state finals take place Feb. 28 and 29, also at Roanoke College.
