Madison Martin of Appomattox County High School placed first in her age group and 24th out of 785 runners total in the Virginia 4+ Miler on Saturday in Lynchburg with a time of 31:07.
Martin’s mother, Jamie, ran in Saturday’s Virginia 10 Miler.
Appomattox Raiders cross country coach Lisa Fort, who coaches Martin in cross country competition, expressed her sentiments regarding Martin’s accomplishments.
“Congratulations to Madison Martin, who competed in the Lynchburg 4+ Miler on Saturday,” Fort said. “She was in the top 10 women placing overall and she placed first in her age group, completing the course in 31:07.”
