The Appomattox County High School cross country team competed in Altavista on Oct. 5.

The girls team was led by Madison Martin, who completed the 5K course in a time of 22:17, placing second overall.

The boys team was led by Clay Hamilton, who completed the 5K course in a time of 19:28, placing fourth overall.

The Appomattox Middle School cross country team also competed in Altavista.

The boys team was led by Lucas Hunter, who placed second overall in a time of 11:30 for the 2K course.

Caroline Swing placed sixth overall in the girls race, completing the course in a time of 15:37.

The Raiders will compete again Saturday at the Milestat Invitational in Richmond.
