On Friday, the Appomattox Raiders traveled to the Jamerson YMCA in Lynchburg, defeating Amherst for the second time this season, but losing to LCA and Heritage.

The Raiders started out the meet strong, taking second in the boy’s 200-yard medley relay and first in the girl’s 200-yard medley relay, with the team of Catherine Thomas, Kirsten Moore, Morgan Flamm and Berkley Jamerson edging out LCA for the win, and Charlie Drinkard, Conner Burton, Bennett Goodman and Clay Hamilton being edged out by LCA.

In the boy’s 200-yard freestyle, Tyler Burton took fourth, while Parker Cheatham was fifth, and in the girl’s 200-yard freestyle, senior Kirsten Moore made a personal best time and won first place, while fellow senior, Katie Conroy won sixth.

In the boy’s 200-yard individual medley, freshman Conner Burton took first.
