The Appomattox Raiders boys soccer team lost two Dogwood District games last week, falling at Dan River 2-1 on May 8 and at home to Nelson County 2-0 on May 10.

As of press time, Appomattox (8-4-2) is second in the district with a 4-2 record. Nelson County tops the district at 8-0 (15-0 overall).

Against the Nelson County Governors, Appomattox goalie Ben Records was kept under pressure much of the game as the Governors controlled ball possession in Raider territory.

Records held up remarkably well, recording a shutout in the first half and coming up with several diving saves during the course of the game.
