The Appomattox Raiders outdoor track and field team hosted a meet at Bragg Stadium on Thursday, May 5 with Chatham, Cumberland, Galileo and E.C. Glass visiting.

Official team scores were not recorded but Appomattox took its share of first place finishes, 16, which were the following:

Mannix Wilhoit, boys 100-meter hurdles (16.74); boys 300-meter hurdles (46.58); boys high jump (6-0)

Amyah Bolar, girls 100-meter dash (13.74)

Ervis Davin, boys 100-meter dash (11.75); boys long jump (20-05.5)

Girls 400-meter relay (51.79)

Sarai Glover, girls 400-meter dash (1:08.68); girls 200-meter dash (28.66)

Taniyah Booker, girls high jump (4-08)

Morgan Flamm, girls pole vault (7-06)

Andrew Peacock, boys pole vault (9-06)

Harmony Troxler, girls long jump (15-11)

Nadiyah Abdussalaam, girls triple jump (33-09)

Madison Baldwin, girls discus throw (51-10); girls shot put (20-09)

The Raiders also competed last weekend in the Dogwood Track Classic at Lannigan Field at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. The competition was much more competitive with more than 100 schools represented.

The highest finish for Appomattox was recorded by Mannix Wilhoit, who was eighth in the boys high jump at 5-6.

Madison Martin ran a state-qualifying time in the girls 3200-meter run with a time of 12:36.36, finishing 60th overall.

The girls 4x100-meter relay team of Harmony Troxler, Nadiyah Abdussalaam, Kelsey Hackett and Amyah Bolar was 11th with a time of 51.70.

Nadiyah Abdussalaam was 13th in the girls pole vault with a height of 8-6, 16th in the girls 100-meter hurdles at 16.77, and 17th in the girls triple jump at 33-6.

Harmony Troxler was 14th in the girls triple jump at a distance of 33-6.

The Raiders will compete tonight at 5 p.m. at Amherst. Friday’s scheduled meet, the Liberty University Invitational, has been canceled.
