Being a young 10-year-old boy hunting with a .410 single barrel shotgun was the best thing I had going on back then. I was so excited back then to get my .410. My grandfather took me hunting all the time. All I had to do was ask him and we would go.
I remember it was a Friday night and Pappy wanted me to go to bed early so I was all ready to hunt the next morning. I really used to drink coffee back then, and I was just about finished with my cup and Pappy asked me if I was ready to go. I had to put on extra clothes because there was snow on the ground.
My grandfather worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad. Pappy told me to get ready and we were going to ride the road next to the tracks. That is when he told me we will see rabbits sitting next to the rabbit holes. He told me their eyes will shine and sparkle. I was excited now for sure.
