Why did a goose and a turkey wander into the J. Robert Jamerson Memorial Library? To hang out in the Children’s section and read all the new books that are on display including fiction, non-fiction and biography.

Thanks to a generous donation by Mark Davis, the library now has two new mascots: a taxidermy goose and turkey. The library staff has hung these new editions in our “Icky Corner.” Our “Icky Corner” has been expanded to a second wall in the Children’s section, and hosts a new “I Spy” board. Adults and kids alike are encouraged to come in, view our new displays and play “I Spy” with the items featured in our “Icky Corner.”

Our “Icky Corner” started approximately two decades ago when a patron gave the Library a monetary gift and said, “Do something weird in the Children’s section.” Library staff expanded upon their existing collection of unusual items by adding several displays and other donations by generous benefactors.
