Davidson signs with NY Yankees

Crawford L. Davidson, one of the stars of this year’s championship Lee Theatre Skyline team, signed a contract to play baseball in the New York Yankees minor league system. Davidson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. O.L. Davidson of Appomattox.

Class teaches farm rescue

Twenty area fire and rescue workers gathered at Pack’s Dairy Farm in Appomattox for the finale of a 16-hour farm machinery and safety extraction course, which taught them how to properly free a victim from farm machinery.

Baldwin girl doing fine after brain surgery

Four-year-old girl Carson Baldwin, of Pamplin, is doing fine after undergoing brain surgery to repair a group of blood vessels that had bonded on her brain stem, and has been moved out of the intensive care unit at the University of Virginia Hospital.
