Spring is just a few days away and the library is already in full bloom with our spring and summer events lined up! We will see the return of our annual plant swap, Spot the Book Bus, Jamerson Movie Night and Movie Matinees, outdoor fun after Story & Craft Time, new displays, and more. We encourage you to visit our Facebook @jamersonlibrary to keep up with all the newest information as we get ready to spring forward.
Partially due to the generous Dorothy Louise Kyler/John Henry Eldred, Jr. Foundation Grant that the library received, we have been able to update and expand much of our juvenile non-fiction collection. We have passed this lagniappe forward by donating our older (but still valid) books to Spot the Book Bus. Spot the Book Bus is a part of A.L.I.P. (Appomattox Literacy Intervention Project). They are a non-profit charitable organization which promotes literacy throughout Appomattox County. A.L.I.P.'s most important project over the years has been their book buses, Spot the Dog and Trot the Horse. Spot & Trot travel throughout Appomattox County year-round, visiting preschool classes, Head Start classes, daycare facilities, home care centers, local private schools, neighborhoods and private residences. Hundreds of children look forward to visits from Spot and Trot each week. Spot will be visiting the library for their spring run starting in April.
