If hanging out with friends and honing your marksmanship skills sounds like a fun time, that is exactly what the members of the Appomattox 4-H Afterschool Archery Club are doing!
The club provides all of the equipment, and Appomattox Elementary School provides the space. The lead instructor for this club is Bonnie Tillotson, Appomattox 4-H agent and Level II Archery Instructor. Adult and teen volunteers with archery experience generously give of their time to help with set-up, supervision, instruction and take-down.
Club members learn how to safely shoot Genesis bows from a variety of distances, how to properly score targets, how to take care of the equipment, range safety and commands, and enjoy playing archery games.
