Edward Donald “Pete” Guill Sr., 80, of Cedar Lane, Appomattox, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, December 13, 2018, surrounded by family at his home. He was the husband of Maxine Guill for 58 years.
Born in Appomattox County, Va., on January 7, 1938, he was a son of the late Elmina Barlow and James A. “Joe” Guill. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and a retired employee of Simplimatic Engineering.
In addition to his wife Pete is survived by two sons, Dennis Guill (Stacey) and Joseph “Joe” Guill (Stephanie); his beloved grandchildren, Michael Guill (Jessica), Charlotte Rogers (Matt), Amber Stiles, Brett Guill (Joy), Morgan Torrence and Dallas Guill; great grandchildren, Holly, Camri, Jaxon, Asher, Amani, Zavian, Dylan, Olivia, and Aubree; two sisters, Mary “Twink” Guill and Linda G. Overton; an aunt, Nina Beasley; special friends, Ricky and Sandra Parker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by a son, Edward Donald Guill Jr.
A funeral service celebrating his life was held at 3 p.m., Sunday, December 16, 2018, at Bible Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Watson and Pastor Jerry Boyce officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery.
The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
