Barbara Ann Mayberry, 78, Appomattox, died Sunday, April 14, 2019. She was the wife of the late Lacy Mayberry, Jr.

Born in Prince Edward County, Noveember 8, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Grace Franklin and Claude W. Pierce. Barbara was a member of Spout Spring Baptist Church and retired from Appomattox County.

She was survived by two daughters, Marie Kress and husband, Kenneth, of Appomattox and Helen Evans and husband, Mark, of Concord; six grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and was anticipating the birth of her first great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Mike Pierce and wife, Jean of Appomattox; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Gertrude Pierce and Juanita Hamilton; and one brother, Henry Pierce, Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2019, at Robinson Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Kvasnicka officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019, at Robinson Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter Marie.
