In January, Appomattox County Sheriff Donnie Simpson will retire his police badge to take up a school badge. This spring, Appomattox County Public Schools will introduce a new addition to its Career and Technical program: criminal justice.

Fortunately, the school didn't need to search far for an instructor. Simpson will be joining the staff at Appomattox County High School (ACHS) to teach this course to students.

Simpson’s goal for the course is clear, as he stated: "To provide students with a broad introduction to the world of law enforcement and criminal justice."
