One of the churches in Appomattox went above and beyond in uniting the community during Memorial Day Weekend. The day might have been cool, the sky might have been cloudy and the wind might have been blowing, but this did not prevent the church from making a difference in the community on a holiday weekend. Organizations came from many different parts of the Appomattox area to help Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church set up its Gigantic Rummage Sale and Craft Fair. Church employees were working, volunteers from various organizations were gaining personal satisfaction, and attendees were finding great deals.

On Saturday, May 27, Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church hosted its first Gigantic Rummage Sale and Craft Fair, an event that attracted more than 500 people.

“Everyone was so positive, as there were no complaints, and it could not have gone any better,” said Paul Harmon, videographer of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, volunteer for Mac's Kitchen, and lead organizer of the Gigantic Rummage Sale .

The event raised money for worthy causes and enabled Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church to interact more with the community.
