On Tuesday, Aug. 30, Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) hosted a special awards ceremony at which fifth grader Alex Dunnam and sixth grader Adrienne Eagle learned that they became state winners in American Legion Auxiliary’s essay contest.

This is a significant accomplishment because these students were competing against numerous writers, some from large public schools.

“Both Adrienne and Alex are great examples of using their talents in writing to express their feelings. They both approached this as a way to express their views but also as a way to display their writing skills,” stated CCA’s fifth grade teacher Cynthia Spiggle.
