Early this afternoon, a tractor trailer carrying a load of tires caught on fire on U.S. 460 East in Appomattox past the Police Tower Road intersection.
The outside of the trailer was visibly damaged. At least one lane was blocked temporarily.
The Times Virginian has reached out to the Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department for more information.
