ACHS students compete at Central VA Welding Wars

Five Appomattox County High School Agricultural Fabrication students competed in the Central Virginia Welding Wars on April 26. This annual event is hosted at Central Virginia Community College for Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and Lynchburg school division students.

Davyon Anderson, Collin Crowder, Jake Jamerson, Ella Quarles and Zach Wallen were selected from the Agricultural Fabrication Classes and represented Appomattox well.

Anderson, Crowder, Jamerson and Quarles competed in the high school level 1 event. They were required to complete a 2F 6-inch Tee Weld using 7018 electrodes on a quarter-inch plate. Wallen competed in the high school level 2 event and was required to complete a 2G bevel weld with a backing plate.

All competitors did extremely well representing Appomattox County High School in this event.
