On Saturday, the local Knights of Columbus at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church participated in a Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics.
Special Olympics provides a unique opportunity for the physically and mentally challenged to participate in the competitive arena where everyone wins one way or another.
The goal to raise $1.2 million was surpassed this year in small part due to the Knights teaming up to participate in the Polar Plunge at Lakeland Lake in Lynchburg.
