Glen Shelton event

Glen Shelton (pictured in background) was at the Holliday Lake Amphitheater last Saturday evening, playing George Strait covers and originals. The set was part of the Routes of Rhythm Music Trail, a summer concert series sponsored by the state parks of central and southern Virginia.

At the Holliday Lake Amphitheater last Saturday evening, campers and day visitors gathered around to hear Glen Shelton deliver popular country and gospel songs. The concert included two segments. The first was a patriotic tribute and the second a tribute to Shelton’s inspiration, George Strait.

The concert was part of the Routes of Rhythm Music Trail. The music trail is organized by the state parks of central and southern Virginia to provide entertainment and educational experiences that put the spotlight on the area’s rich music history.

“It’s great. This is one of several Virginia parks that I’m doing this year,” said Shelton who performed with his friend Russell Mayberry on sound. “We’ve been to Powhatan. We’re here today. And then we’ll be at the Staunton River Battlefield State Park on the eighteenth.”
