William H. “Bill” Hogan is seeking re-election to represent the Appomattox River District on the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors. Hogan has served on the Board since initially running as a write-in candidate in 2015, and currently serves as Board Vice-Chairman and chairs the Board’s Public Safety Committee.
Hogan’s vision for another term includes continuing to look for growth opportunities that expand the tax base and fund the community priorities without raising tax rates on those already living here. And as the county grows, that growth must be properly managed so that it doesn’t negatively impact rural and historic heritage or overburden local resources.
“Despite inflation and rising operational costs, we have not had to raise taxes in eight years. In fact, the Board has successfully lowered our real estate rate by two cents and the Personal Property rate by 35 cents (over 10%),” Hogan said.
