Warren Lee (Johnny) Johnson, 78, of Stone Ridge Road, Concord, died peacefully Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at his residence.

Born in Alexandria, Va., on October 8, 1940, he was a son of the late Virginia Warren and Wilson Lee Johnson. He graduated GW High School and attended Corcoran School of the Arts and Design. Warren retired from Western Electric, now AT&T. He was a life member of the N.R.A., an active volunteer with the Telephone Pioneers (a community service organization through AT&T); and was involved with Special Olympics. In addition to being a talented artist and craftsman, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Since the purchase of an Appomattox farm in 2004, he delighted in photographing and feeding the wildlife there. And he loved his dogs, cats, plus a neighboring donkey.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Dennis Johnson; two brothers, Joseph Stern Johnson and wife, Barbara of Alexandria and William “Bill” Johnson and wife, Martha of N. C.; a niece, Stephanie Satterfield (Chris); and five nephews, Colin, Devon, Scott, Tait, and Malcolm; as well as two great-nieces; two great-nephews; and cousins.
