Gerald Stephen Little, known to friends as "Jerry," passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer on July 29, 2018, at the age of 66 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Brown Little and mother, Avis Brown Little.
He is survived by his wife, Joanna Little; two daughters, Stephanie Groshell and Jessica Southern; two brothers, Ron Little and wife, Kim and Bruce Little; two sisters, Gail Beaver and husband, Randy and Bonita Wilson and husband, Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A native of Mooresville, N.C., Jerry was The Director of Engineering of North America for Western Digital Corporation and a cattle farmer in Appomattox, VA. As a lifelong historian specializing in civil war history, he enjoyed residing in Appomattox and his membership in the Latham Artillery Group. Jerry's passion for civil war history is further exemplified in his active contributions and membership in The Museum of the Confederacy in Appomattox.
