Mrs. Dorothy Smith, age 86 of Appomattox, died on July 3, 2018 in Lynchburg. She was the daughter of the late Otis Haskins and Judy Davis Haskins.
Mrs. Dorothy Smith was employed by Archer Creek Foundry in Lynchburg, where she was affectionately called “Ms. Dottie”. She retired from Archer Creek after twenty plus years of service.
She is survived by her son, Tony W. Smith (Rose) of Lake Stevens, Washington; three daughters, Carolyn J. Lagrone of Winterville, North Carolina, Ruby A. Smith-Vincent of the home, and Janet R. Davis (Ricardo) of Brooklyn, New York; son-in-law, Charles Adams, Sr. of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren, Christina Smith, Jasmine Lagrone, Johnathan Lagrone, Anthony Smith, Andre Smith, Lamont Adams and Charles Adams; four great-grandchildren, Alexis Adams, Isiah Adams, Brandon Adams, and Zaiah J. Ridddick-Lagrone; one sister, Mary Malone of Oxon Hill, Maryland; one brother, Samuel Haskins of Youngstown, Ohio; three sisters-in-law, Nancy A. Smith of Bedford, Edna Smith of Lynchburg and Ann Smith of Sumpter, South Carolina; one aunt-in-law, Ollie Smith of Brookneal; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Nazareth Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.JeffressFuneralHome.com. Arrangements were by Jeffress Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Brookneal.
